BuBa head Weidmann has commented the German GDP. He mentioned that the economic growth may be below 1,5% in 2019 as the level of uncertainty is rather high. Weidamnn thinks that bad data results may come for some time.

German retail sales declined in December despite the economists’ expectations. The indicator declined for 2,1%. November’s growth was at 1,9%.

The number of unemployed in Germany declined but did not meet the expectations. The unemployment rate is still low.

Spanish GDP has grown in the last quarter of 2018. According to the release, it reached 0,7% after 0,3 in the third quarter.

The number of unemployment claims has reached its maximum reading for the past 1,5 year. There are risks that US labor market’s growth slows down.

CAD

Canadian GDP decreased for 0,1% according to expectations. October’s growth was 0,3%.
